Friday Shopping Savings

Wearing; Agent NinetyNine shift from General Pants Co, Sportsgirl shorts and loafers, Glassons bag & Cotton On sunglasses.

I don't have a job at the moment so I have only a small amount of savings. Somewhere in my subconcious I know it's going to run out. However whenever I am in shopping mod, my heart just ignores my brain and tells me that it is a neverending pile of cash and that I should just so crazy. I'm not one for impulse buying. Usually I can tell when I really want something because I will travel to the shops a few times just to look at it. I once went to three different Sportsgirl shops and made John go into his just to find a bag that I fell in love with. I got it in the end, but that long and embarrassing story is for another time.

After uni today I took a quick (actually two and a half hours) trip to the shops to see what I could find. I picked up this Sportsgirl knit which I had my eye on for a while and finally gave in when it was on super sale for only $24.95. This other red sweater is from Temt for only $9.95. I'm usually cautious about going into places like Temt because I really don't know what to expect. I've seen some scary things in there, but I don't mean to be snobbish or anything. I have found some good pieces in the most random of shops. These high waisted shorts are one of the few things I've bought full priced, they are so comfy.

Anyway I hope everyone had a good week, but I hope you have an even more kickass weekend. Keep checking in and please follow. I know you guys are out there reading and it means the world to me :) xx

Pink & Dots

Wearing; Cotton On dress, Dotti sweater, Jeffrey Campbell Litas & Sportsgirl sunglasses

Please excuse the weird fuzziness of the photos. I kind of like the steamy lighting though, sort of like I had a smoke machine on my balcony. After a six day weekend, I went back to uni today. I start flying again tomorrow which is very exciting but I'm definitely at the stage where I just want it to be all over and get out in the real world. I'm petrified of having a real job and a grown up life but everyone has to do it. I just feel way too young and immature still. I haven't learnt any life lessons!

I'm really getting into dots at the moment. I'm trying to find the perfect dotted blouse and black and white dot pleated skirt. If you have any sightings please let me know. Not sure if I've mentioned him before, but this is my beautiful dog, Smudger. He looks evil in this picture but I assure you he is as sweet as apple pie. xx

The Look For Less - Kate Bosworth

To me, fashion is about being creative. Drawing inspiration from life and experiences and interpreting it to reflect your own personality and style. One of the biggest sources of inspiration for me, and I'm sure for all of you, is celebrities. Those fortunate enough to be able to afford whatever they like and not think twice about it, those who have stylists on hand no matter what time of the day to lead them in the right direction no matter what the occasion. So that's why I am introducing this feature for my blog. I want to take the best celebrity looks and find an affordable alternative for fashion lovers.

To start with, I just had to show you this Kate Bosworth look. Everybody loves her style, she always manages to look effortless. This look is just that. Absolutely gorgeous, I love the pastel palette she's played with.

This American Apparel blouse incorporates the similar palette used on Kate's blouse. The floral floral pattern brings a feminine edge to the outfit.

These ASOS pants will bring a tailored look to the outfit which will contrast very nicely the oversized floral blouse.

And some nice nude court heels to pull the look together. These ones are from Wanted Shoes or you could get this Steve Madden pair which are currently on sale for only $69 and have free shipping to Australia.

So that's my interpretation of this Kate Bosworth look, let me know what you think. Also if you have you want me to recreate please let me know :) xx

Jour Libre

Wearing; vintage jumper & Sportsgirl shorts

Today was a very rare day off for me. I am a full time student and my schedule is not fixed so I can get called in to uni at basically any moment. I always look forward to my days off but often I find that I have no idea what to do with myself when I have them. I find it very disconcerting especially when I have absolutely nothing that needs to be done urgently. Usually I clean. Which I don't think of it as a chore, more of a type of meditation. I hate the feeling of wasting a day, but what is a day wasted exactly? Happy Weekend everybody, may you do absolutely nothing and feel perfectly complete. xx

Mustard Lace Biker

Wearing; vintage cardigan, Sportsgirl top, Rude Lucy jeans, Betts boots, J-line Designs necklace & Glassons bag

You'll have to excuse me for the shocking quality of the photos. I don't know why but they get really small when they go through blogger, can anyone help? Please? This is just a throw-together outfit I wore to go to the airport in. I thought the mix of lace and biker boots would be a nice combination, don't you think? These boots have had a thorough workout this year and they are still as comfy and fabulous as ever. I love finding quality items that are well worth the money and go the distance. xx

How adorable is this bag from ASOS? I love the rainbow and the check pattern. It just screams summer, so I thought it was very appropriate. xx

Grandma Style

Wearing; Sportsgirl blouse, American Apparel pants, Sportsgirl loafers & Oasis bag (old)

An outfit I wore a few weeks ago when it was still chilly, unlike today which was beautiful except a little too windy for my liking. I'm actually wearing shorts, it's crazy how much I've missed them. You'll see if you continue to read my blog that I love/obsessed with blouses. They are just so classy and can be dressed up or down for any occasion. I ordered another one a week ago, and don't you just love the feeling that you know something is on its way to you? I come home excited to see if it's here or not, always a little disappointed when it hasn't arrived yet, but tomorrow is another day. The blouse, white pants and loafers, John would say it kind of seems like I've stepped out of my grandmother's wardrobe, but I love every piece of this outfit. When do you think? xx

Aje Fonolo

(Images sourced from aje.com.au)

How beautiful was the weather this weekend? Amazing, it's just too bad I had an assignment to finish instead of fully enjoying it. Thought I'd finish off this beautiful weekend with some beautiful dress envy.

This is the Aje Fonolo Dress and it is simply a dream come true. From the 'Patchwork Romantic' S/S 11/12 collection, I love the one shoulder design and the fact that it's drenched in sequins. I have an end of year ball next month and I would probably give anything to wear this dress to it. I'll just have to keep dreaming. xx

The Carpark

Wearing; Cue blazer, Supre dress, Diva necklace & Tony Bianco boots

We took this photos a few weeks ago before going out afterwards. Just waiting in the pub carpark for a friend to pick us up, my boyfriend John thought it would be a good idea to snap some pictures. Of course that's when the wind started blowing and you'll have to excuse me for not looking more whimsical.

So it's been a week since I officially started my blog and I'm really excited about the feedback I've been receiving so far. Please keep on commenting and maybe even following ;) I really appreciate everyone's thoughts. Happy weekend everybody. xx

Bomb Song

(image sources from princesspolly.com.au)

I simply love this outfit. I saw it a while ago while I was scouting out this Cameo Bomb Song Skirt. There's something really simple about this outfit yet impeccably styled. I love the unique design of this skirt, it's nothing I've seen before, and the mustard colour is beautiful. I'm in love with this colour, I have too much of it in my wardrode at the moment. This skirt is on sale at Princess Polly now so snag it while you can. xx

Flying

Just wanted to share a few experiences I've had whilst doing my degree. Currently I'm a qualified pilot and the road to now has been filled with excitement, stress, fun, early mornings, alot of bad weather and more stress. These photos were taken on some solo trips around Sydney and coming down along the coast from Brisbane. Of course the photos were taken in a very safe manner. xx

Hello World

I don't really know how to start this. I've planning what will go into this blog for a few months now, but now that it's finally time to write my first entry, I don't know what to say.

Hi, my name is Estelle. I am a student studying aviation. It takes up a big chunk of my life and I hope that I can share a little about it with you. I decided to create a blog of my own after being inspired by so many other bloggers. I really wanted to share my view on fashion and my style which I consider to be dressy casual and often quirky at times.

After deliberating and a few changes, I decided on the name 'Lover & Shoes'. I think everyone can relate to it because most fashion lovers adore shoes. Shoes are my favourite item of clothing and one day I hope to have a huge collection that will take up an entire wall in my bedroom. It will be a beautiful sight.

So hopefully you can learn about me through my blog and I hope to learn a little about you. I am still incredibly new at this so if you have any handy tips, please share. Happy following xx.
